Wood fibres fully traceable from carton package back to forest At all its production sites, SIG Combibloc is certified since end of 2009 in accordance with the criteria of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) for a complete chain of custody verification (CoC). The FSC CoC certification of SIG Combibloc’s production plants is documentary evidence of the high environmental standards to which SIG Combibloc works. On the basis of the FSC CoC certificate, SIG Combibloc is now one of the first manufacturers to offer aseptic carton packs that are permitted to bear the label ‘FSC Mix’. This label on the packaging verifies that all the wood pulp fibres used to manufacture the carton pack can be traced from the labelled package right back to the forest of origin without interruption and in accordance with the CoC standards set by the FSC. It also confirms that appropriate quantities of the wood used to manufacture the unprocessed cardboard were bought from FSC-certified forests managed to the highest standards. ‘FSC Mix’ denotes the product group from well-managed forests and other controlled sources. |
