Ecological responsibility As an industrial enterprise, SIG depends on nature’s resources when conducting its business activities. SIG has a major vested interest in ensuring that such resources are sustained over the long term, both to the benefit of the world at large and so that the company can continue to harvest them. Consequently, ecological responsibility is firmly anchored in the SIG Principles and its Code of Conduct. Primary responsibility for environmental protection during business activities lies with the individual business units of both divisions SIG Combibloc and SIG Beverages. A question of quality At SIG, environmental management is an integral part of quality management. Taking ecological considerations into account in product development, resource efficient production and optimal product safety all contribute to the quality of a product. In addition to assessable quantifiable factors, the SIG investment guidelines require that qualitative elements such as the ecological sustainability of investments be observed. In this way, SIG ensures that, even in future activities, the environmental aspect is given due consideration. |
