Sale of SIG Cantec to Soudronic AG With sale of SIG Cantec to Soudronic AG, SIG completes focus on core business activities In the course of last year, the majority of the non-core activities of the SIG Beverages division were divested. Now, with today’s agreement on the sale of SIG Cantec to Soudronic AG, the group completes its initiative of focusing on packaging solutions in the sectors of carton and plastic bottles. SIG Cantec, with its production location in Essen, Germany, is a systems supplier of can-making equipment. In 2005, the company and its 140 employees generated net sales in the region of EUR 25 million. Switzerland’s Soudronic AG, with its 450 employees, is aiming to achieve net sales of around CHF 180 million in the current business year. The product portfolios of the two companies complement each other ideally. The contractual partners have agreed not to divulge details of the sales price.
