France: Lipton Ice Tea now also in the 1.5 litre family pack from SIG Combibloc August 2006. In tune with the season, Unilever France has launched Lipton Ice Tea in the 1.5 litre family pack (Apple and Red Fruits flavours) on the French market. With the combifitMagnum carton from SIG Combibloc, Unilever France is expanding its Lipton product range with a large-format version incorporating the convenient combiTwist spout. With jumbo sizes enjoying huge success in the Netherlands since 2005, Unilever France is anticipating an increase in sales in France, too. Lipton Ice Tea in a family pack from SIG Combibloc is a switch back for the French. Indeed, prior to plastic bottles, Lipton Ice Tea started in France with carton packs in 1992. As its partner for the introduction of Lipton Ice Tea in carton packs, the company opted to work with SIG Combibloc. The decisive factors in this choice were the company’s diversified product portfolio and its innovative technologies. “combifitMagnum embodies the premium concepts of our products in form and function. The four display surfaces, which can be exploited in full, offer space for attractive designs”, says Raphael Prévot, brand manager for Lipton Ice Tea at Unilever France. With the combiTwist spout, the large format really has the perfect twist. The carton pack is easily opened with a single turn of the cap. On the initial opening of the spout, a wedge integrated into the cap pierces the pre-perforated carton. To reclose, the screw cap is simply screwed back on. Pleasure in success Unilever France records annual sales of approx. EUR 3.5 billion (source Unilever). With a share of 66.4 per cent, Lipton Ice Tea is the market leader (Nielsen, HM+SM, End 2005).
