Announcement of extension of publication period

Announcement of extension of publication period for Board report in accordance with recommendation of Swiss Takeover Board dated December 29, 2006
In accordance with recommendation VIII of the Swiss Takeover Board dated December 29, 2006 SIG is required to publicly announce the extension of publication of the Board of Directors’ reports on the two bids submitted by Romanshorn S.A. (controlled by “CVC/FERD”) and the Rank Group. The Takeover Board has established that the SIG Board of Directors must publish their respective reports on the aforementioned bids by February 2, 2007 at the latest. This extension is coherent with the following, newly applicable timeline:

January 26, 2007: End of the cooling-off period for the bids from CVC/FERD and Rank

January 29, 2007: Start of the offer period for both bids

February 23, 2007: End of the offer period for both bids
