Resilience & adaptability at work

Change is no longer an event — it’s a constant. From technological acceleration to market shifts, organizations are learning that resilience and adaptability are the new drivers of performance. Teams that bend rather than break do so not by luck, but through their ability to recover, reframe, and act.
Why it matters
  • Employees with high resilience are 60% less likely to experience burnout (Aon Global Resilience Report 2024).
  • Adaptive teams sustain 25% higher productivity during transformation (Deloitte Human Capital Trends 2024).
  • 74% of employees say they would stay longer at companies that actively support mental health and balance (Gallup State of the Global Workplace 2024).
Resilience, adaptability, and wellbeing

Resilience is the ability to recover, learn, and maintain perspective in challenging times. Adaptability builds on this by turning insight and awareness into action — adjusting quickly when plans change and maintaining momentum despite uncertainty. Wellbeing is the foundation that fuels both: when employees feel physically, mentally, and socially supported, they are more capable of recovering from setbacks and responding effectively to change. By understanding how these elements work together, organizations can create teams that not only survive disruption but thrive through it.

From coping to thriving

Resilience starts with awareness — knowing when to reset, when to ask for help, and when to take the next leap. Adaptability then transforms that awareness into action.

At SIG, resilience is built into how we work and lead.

To make resilience part of daily culture, we launched psychological safety e-learning and interactive formats like Coffee Roulette and Ask-Me-Anything sessions. These initiatives invite open dialogue — a cornerstone of adaptive teams.

Autonomy also strengthens resilience. SIG’s hybrid work model balances focus and flexibility while maintaining collaboration. And our Transformation Lab equips leaders with the empathy and communication tools needed to guide teams through uncertainty.

Programs like BeWell promote physical, mental, social, and financial health, helping employees see recovery as part of growth. From sleep and nutrition campaigns to global mindfulness challenges, BeWell helps colleagues learn that recovery is part of growth.

Story spotlight:

When Antonia Jabalera, Quality & Project Management Director for the spouted pouch machines at SIG, joined SIG, she quickly learned that true quality isn’t built in inspection—it’s built in collaboration. During the transition from Bossar into SIG, she led teams through tighter timelines, new systems, and cultural change. By embedding Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement, her team turned early challenges into long-term stability.

“Quality is not just a priority—it’s a value we all share,” she says

Her story shows that resilience is not the same as endurance; it’s learning to adapt systems and mindsets together.

Looking ahead

In 2026, we’ll strengthen the link between wellbeing and sustainable performance with peer-support circles and deeper leadership training on psychological safety.

At SIG, resilience isn’t about standing firm through change — it’s about growing stronger because of it.
