This partnership brings together a broad network of contributors – from SIG customers and suppliers to NGOs, waste collectors, recyclers, and others. SIG customers play a particularly important role by donating production time on their filling machines, enabling the creation of safe, nutritious products for people in need.

Bidyanondo

Food distribution

Bidyanondo is an educational voluntary organization in Bangladesh. Their goal is to engage students and professionals to work together to educate, empower and lift the underprivileged. By distributing Cartons for Good meals, they help underprivileged in rural areas.

BRAC

Initiative development

The basis for Cartons for Good was established in collaboration with BRAC, the world’s largest southern-led development organisation. The pilot project in Bangladesh was developed in close cooperation with BRAC Dairy, an SIC customer.

Eco-Friendly Thailand

Recycling

Eco-friendly Thailand recycles used beverage cartons. They started their first recycling plant in 2013 to create solutions for waste paper and make use of recycled plastic.

Institute of Nutrition, Mahidol University (INMU)

Recipe development

Institute of Nutrition, Mahidol University (INMU), located 20 km west of Bangkok, is developing recipes tailored to elderly nutritional needs for our Cartons for Good project in Thailand.

Food production

For the planned Cartons for Good project in Egypt, Juhayna Food Industries, an SIG customer, will be producing nutritious 100% juice provided to people in need.

NRCP

Project development

As part of "Youthinkgreen" Egypt, NRCP (Natural Resources and Climate Protection) is working to tackle Egypt’s most pressing sustainability challenges and problems through designing world-class hands-on and empowerment programs for youth. NRCP has conducted a study as the basis for our future Egypt project. 

SAVE FOOD Initiative

The SAVE FOOD initiative, launched by Messe Düsseldorf, interpack and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) is committed to reducing the enormous quantities of food that are lost or wasted worldwide every day. With the support of the initiative, we conducted a comprehensive and locally based study to achieve the highest possible impact in Egypt with our initiative.
