SIG Drinksplus enables Diamond Cold Storage to launch Indonesia’s first locally produced UHT milk with nata de coco pieces in aseptic carton

SIG Drinksplus debuts into Indonesia, expanding opportunities for product differentiation. This unique and proven technology empowers manufacturers to aseptically fill carton packs with beverages containing up to 10% pieces such as nata de coco using standard SIG filling machines for beverages. The solution supports Diamond Cold Storage in launching its first locally produced UHT flavored milk with bite-sized nata de coco in aseptic carton, meeting evolving consumer demand for more varied taste and texture experiences while opening new growth opportunities in the market. 

In Indonesia, beverages that combine flavor with texture such as nata de coco, jelly, or fruit pieces have become increasingly popular, particularly among younger consumers seeking more engaging drinking experiences. 

Until now, beverages containing pieces in Indonesia have typically been packaged in plastic or glass bottles. Meeting the growing demand in Indonesia for multi-sensory beverage experiences, Diamond’s new dairy range in SIG XSlimBloc 200 ml carton packs brings innovation to consumers and is available in four flavors: Grape, Melon, Watermelon and Coconut Shake.  

Diamond is the first manufacturer in the country utilizing the unique SIG Drinksplus technology. The technology enables the aseptic filling of beverages containing up to 10% pieces like fruit pieces, grains, oats, or nata de coco in carton packs on standard SIG filling lines for beverages. The pieces can measure up to six millimeters in length and width. The drinking straws for those products can be up to eight millimeters in diameter and make drinking the products easy and fun.

A cornerstone of the technology is SIG’s advantageous sleeve system where each carton sleeve is individually shaped, filled and ultrasonically sealed above the filling level and not through the product – providing aseptic safety of the product and allowing beverage manufacturers to introduce innovative multi-texture drinks in aseptic cartons. 

Notably, SIG Drinksplus technology can be seamlessly integrated into SIG’s standard filling machines for beverages with an easy-to-install SIG Drinksplus upgrade kit.
