SIG journey: Joined in 2017 as FP&A Analyst São Paulo → Performance Improvement → Coordinator → Now Global Market Controller in Germany

Tell us a bit about your role at SIG and what brought you to your new country.

I started at SIG in 2017 in the FP&A team, and it was only my second job — I was still learning what kind of professional I wanted to become. But from the beginning, I was challenged and supported in equal measure. Over time, I moved into a performance improvement role, which pushed me beyond numbers and into strategic thinking. That’s when I found what truly motivates me: helping grow the business.

In October 2024, I moved to Germany to take on a global role in the Market Controlling team. It was a big decision, but one I felt ready for thanks to the trust and development SIG had invested in me.

What has been the most rewarding part of this international move — both personally and professionally?

Professionally, I’ve expanded my perspective. I now work across global projects, closer to marketing, with a more strategic lens on financial impact. Personally, the biggest reward has been proving to myself that I can start over in a new place — and thrive. Every day I learn something new, not just about the job, but about the world and myself.

How did SIG support you through the transition, and what role did our global culture play?

SIG gave me opportunities before I even knew I was ready for them. That belief was crucial. I also had incredible support from mentors and colleagues in Brazil and here in Germany. The global culture at SIG helped me feel like I wasn’t alone in this journey — I was just expanding my SIG experience across borders.

What advice would you give to a colleague considering a move abroad?

Prepare yourself — not just logistically, but mentally. Moving abroad sounds exciting (and it is!), but it also comes with unexpected challenges. Be realistic, stay flexible, and let go of the “perfect picture.” Growth doesn’t happen in your comfort zone.

And one more thing: embrace the cultural shift. The more open you are, the richer the experience will be — for both your career and your life.
