SIG announced the launch of SIG CleanClic Connect, a bag-in-box fitment innovation designed to enhance dispensing flexibility and simplify operations for customers across food and beverage applications in the foodservice industry.
As beverage programs evolve, manufacturers and foodservice operators need packaging solutions capable of supporting both established and emerging product categories. SIG CleanClic Connect offers application versatility for products such as beverage concentrates, refreshers, teas, creamers, shake mixes, and more helping operators respond to changing menus and consumer preferences without adding unnecessary complexity.
“Foodservice is rapidly evolving as operators introduce new beverage concepts and look for more versatile ways to serve consumers," said Jana Martin, Sr. Manager Global Marketing Foodservice at SIG. "SIG CleanClic Connect reflects how SIG helps customers connect products to dispensing systems with confidence, simplify operations through advanced product protection and aseptic technology, and create opportunities to grow by supporting a broad range of beverage and foodservice applications. It's a future-ready bag-in-box fitment solution designed to help customers adapt and succeed in a changing marketplace."
Developed with the operational realities of dispensing in mind, SIG CleanClic Connect is easy to attach and includes a positive reclosure mechanism. Before its first connection, the SIG CleanClic Connect features a hermetic seal that helps protect product quality and support aseptic integrity, while its compatibility with bag-in-tray systems enables use across a range of dispensing environments. The innovation lies in how the fitment connects, dispenses, and recloses. During use the probe connects with the internals of the fitment, allowing it to open and product to flow. When the package is disconnected, the plug returns to an interference-fit position that positively recloses the fitment. This integrated connection and reclosure design keeps the product path open during dispensing and closed while servicing, helping to reduce exposure, leakage, product waste, and handling complexity compared with fitments that do not positively reclose.
“Our goal was to translate real customer needs into a simple, dependable bag-in-box fitment,” said Steve Ditore, the SIG engineer who led its development. “SIG CleanClic Connect combines an intuitive connection with reliable reclosure and product protection. Its compatibility across applications can help foodservice operators simplify changeovers and get more value from their dispensing programs. The SIG CleanClic Connect is engineered to help customers and foodservice operators future-proof their products with a solution designed for recycling streams where available.”
SIG CleanClic Connect delivers a user-friendly, connect-and-go experience from package installation through product use, creating value through improved product consistency, reduced product waste, and enhanced speed-of-service. By combining bag-in-box packaging with advanced dispensing technology, SIG CleanClic Connect reflects SIG’s commitment to helping foodservice operators connect innovation with execution, simplify operational complexity, and unlock opportunities to grow while shaping the future of dispensing.
“At SIG, innovation is not a one-time achievement. It has defined our company and guided more than 70 years of partnership within the foodservice industry,” said Chris Johns, General Manager America North and Global bag-in-box & spouted pouch at SIG. “SIG CleanClic Connect is a testament to that legacy, demonstrating how we continue to develop forward-thinking solutions that address today’s challenges while preparing for tomorrow’s opportunities. As we look ahead, SIG remains dedicated to leading the evolution of the bag-in-box industry through continuous innovation, customer-focused advancements, and commitment to shaping the future of foodservice for decades to come.”
