Nextbio keeps coffee fresh with bag-in-box

NEXTBIO is a biotech company using patented technology to make cold brew coffee and tea extracts—both of which can deteriorate in quality when exposed to oxygen. The challenge: going stale
NEXTBIO prides itself on the quality of its product, so the final piece of the puzzle—how to package its coffee extracts—needed to be top-notch. The moment coffee is brewed, it goes through chemical changes, most worryingly, oxidation, which causes coffee to taste stale and rancid over time. That’s why NEXTBIO needed a solution for shipping and storing their coffee extracts to prevent this process and keep their meticulously prepared coffee extracts fresh.
“We were introduced to SIG through BUNN, a dispenser company we’re working with on cold brew packaging,” a spokesperson for NEXTBIO shared. “Thanks to SIG’s support, we developed a 3L bag-in-box that can be connected to a coffee dispenser.”
The solution: as fresh as the day it was brewed
NEXTBIO placed its new bag-in-box packaging, utilizing our aseptic packaging technology, in retail locations. Customers immediately took notice: they understood the packaging would ensure the integrity of their products and made dispensing extracts quick and easy.

Switching to bag-in-box also ended up being more cost-efficient. Not only was NEXTBIO able to guarantee their products were delivered to customers without any loss of quality, but the bag-in-box packaging substantially reduced their packaging costs.
