Please introduce yourself and mention how long you’ve worked in Bag-in-Box and spouted pouch substrates at SIG.
Hello, I’m Florian Neubauer, and I’ve been with SIG for 20 years. I started out as a forklift driver, spent 16 years in that role, followed by 2 years as warehouse team leader, and for the past 2 years, I’ve been working as a Planner at our Eisfeld site in Germany.

What originally brought you to this part of the business?
I wanted to work in a hands-on environment with real products and real people. The logistics and packaging world always felt dynamic and essential — and that’s what drew me in.

What makes working in flexible packaging exciting or unique?

It's the constant drive to do things better. Every year, we improve processes, optimize workflows, and build smarter systems. That ongoing evolution is what keeps it exciting.

What’s one challenge you’ve helped solve over the years?
One of the most important aspects of my work has been helping optimize warehouse coordination and stock flow — reducing friction points and improving how goods move through the system.

What’s a proud moment or accomplishment from your time here?
Definitely my development from warehouse staff to planner. It shows that SIG invests in its people and opens doors if you're willing to learn and take on responsibility.

How has the business evolved — and what’s stayed the same?
We’ve gone from being a traditional film manufacturer to a complex operation with multiple refining stages. But what hasn’t changed is the team spirit and the willingness to help one another out.

What advice would you give to someone just starting out in this space?
Don’t give up too quickly. Every beginning is tough — but if you stay committed, the opportunities will come.

Anything else you’d like to share about your journey?
I’m proud to be part of a company that never stands still and where people grow together with the business. I'm excited for what’s next!
