SIG joins the #MostraSuaPegada movement, reinforcing its commitment to carbon footprint transparency

October 08, 2025

SIG, a leading packaging solutions provider, is proud to be the first packaging company to join the #MostraSuaPegada movement, reinforcing its commitment to carbon footprint transparency and CO2 emission reductions across its entire value chain. SIG’s participation in the initiative comes at a milestone moment: the company has recently partnered with Nude, a Brazilian plant-based beverage brand, which in 2025 began using SIG MiniBloc 180ml carton packs with straw for Nudinho – a lactose- and gluten-free oat-based chocolate drink for children.

Created as a healthy and sustainable option for kids, Nudinho contains water, oats, alkalized cocoa, tapioca fiber, seaweed-derived calcium, baking soda, sea salt, and natural flavors. Nude’s decision to use the SIG MiniBloc carton packs reflects the brand’s commitment to reducing environmental impact. Made from approximately 75 % paper, standard SIG carton packs are already designed and manufactured to have a carbon footprint that is far lower than other packaging alternatives such as plastic and glass bottles or aluminum cans. To make the carbon footprint of SIG’s aseptic cartons even smaller, the company is innovating to increase the proportion of low carbon paperboard and eliminate carbon intensive aluminum foil wherever possible. In addition, aseptically packed beverages in aseptic cartons don’t require refrigeration, further reducing emissions associated with refrigerated transport and storage logistics and distribution.

“Joining the #MostraSuaPegada movement is another important step on our journey towards a regenerative packaging system– one that goes beyond reducing negative impacts on nature and biodiversity by delivering positive outcomes for people and the planet. Our aseptic carton packs already play a decisive role in minimizing carbon emissions as they are designed and manufactured to have a far lower carbon footprint than other packaging formats, such as plastic and glass bottles or aluminum cans. We publish all Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) commissioned by SIG on our website, demonstrating our commitment to transparency and to real, data-driven sustainability,” says Isabela de Marchi, Sustainability Manager at SIG.

The #MostraSuaPegada movement brings together companies that commit to publicly disclosing the carbon footprint of their products and to taking meaningful actions to reduce emissions. More information is available at www.mostrasuapegada.com.br.
